Dr. Brockhouse has practiced family medicine in Bloomington-Normal since 1991. Having earned two degrees from Illinois State University, she has called Bloomington-Normal home since 1976. She earned her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 1988, and went on to complete the SIU/Decatur Family Practice Residency Program in August 1991. Dr. Brockhouse is board-certified in Family Medicine with recent re-certification in April 2013.

Dr. Brockhouse provides care for individuals and families from infancy through the geriatric patient. She practices all aspects of family medicine from chronic disease management to acute illness/injury. Dr. Brockhouse’s interests are women’s health preventive medicine, and addiction medicine. She is delighted to be a member of the Chestnut Family Health Center team, and hopes to build a diverse practice with patients of all ages who want quality health care.

Kelly is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nurse practitioner experience. She completed her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Illinois in Chicago. During her career in Central Illinois, Kelly spent many years at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center in various roles and eight years at Planned Parenthood.

Sheila is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over nine years of nurse practitioner experience. She completed her Masters in Nursing Science at Northern Illinois University and is a board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Sheila has worked in a variety of settings including Internal Medicine, Pain Management and a variety of ambulatory and correctional settings. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Illinois Nurses Association among other professional groups. Sheila is focused on preventive care and the overall wellness and health promotion of patients while maintaining high and appropriate standards of care.

Maria has devoted herself for the past 25 years to the compassionate care and treatment of a broad range of psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders (anxiety, depression, etc.) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), relationship counseling, and cognitive decline. Dr. Mynatt received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed a psychiatry residency at Northwestern University Evanston Hospital. She is a former unit manager for several psychiatric inpatient hospitals. She combines the best of traditional and cutting-edge treatment types including talk therapy, medication, nutritional evaluation and support, biofeedback, meditation, resilience training, educational tools and devices, and genetic testing. Dr. Mynatt is Board Eligible. She is a member of the Illinois Psychiatric Society and American Psychiatric Association.

She received her Doctoral degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Methodist College. She is a member of the ANA (American Nurses Association) and APNA (American Psychiatric Nurses Association). Her 10+ years of mental health and pediatric experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychiatric disorders. She believes in working alongside patients to improve their quality of life through an integrated approach to the treatment of psychiatric conditions.

She received her doctoral degree in nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, as well as certification in sleep health and assistive technology. Shijin completed her bachelor’s in Nursing, Psychology, and Health and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychiatric disorders, autism, and conduct disorder with or without physical disabilities. She believes in taking an integrated approach to the treatment of psychiatric conditions and is committed to collaborating with patients to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Garner is board certified in general internal medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Prior to this, she worked for nineteen years in an array of nursing areas including critical care, medical-surgical, behavioral health as well as teaching undergraduate clinicals.
